We had a snow day yesterday because of the "monstrous storm that's crippled the nation". I've gotten such a kick out of how much the media has sensationalized this storm. Yes, it snowed....yes, the wind blew......did schools and businesses close for a day or two, yes.....but the world is not ending. We didn't get much at all compared to most. Our forecast was for 10-16 inches, but they changed it to 5-7 inches with a blizzard warning. And that is what we got. We did something we probably shouldn't have done Tuesday night. Right in the middle of it all, we put our boots on, strapped the kids in Thatcher's 4 wheel drive, snuggled them in with a big blanket, and went for a joy ride in a blizzard.
Yes, that's the street in front of us

Thatcher assured me we couldn't get stuck. He pulls into the school parking lot and guess what happens......we get stuck! So I took pictures...

Eventually we got ourselves un-stuck.

So what do you do on a snow day when you're out of school and it's too cold to play outside? You don't get dressed or brush your hair.
You have a slumber party and watch a movie in the middle of the day, complete with popcorn, candy bars, and juice.

You get in trouble for calling your sister stupid(again) and have to write sentences.

You play with cardboard boxes for hours!
First you decorate them...

Alex didn't want his picture taken, so I had to be sneaky.

He explained what every single button did...

By the end of the day Jacob had been in a hot tub, a race car, a train, a rocket ship, and a fighter jet he was parachuting out of.

You have fun!
And if you're me, you take a bunch of pictures!
